Warwick Davis excels as the titular character in Leprechaun

Leprechaun is a classic horror film that is so terrible it's fantastic. The plot is crazy, the actors are over the top, and the special effects are so bad that they are laughable. But somehow, it all comes together to make a fun and interesting movie. As the leprechaun, Warwick Davis does a great job, and Jennifer Aniston is surprisingly good in her first movie. If you like campy horror movies, you should definitely watch Leprechaun. Just don't expect to be scared. You're more likely to laugh than to scream during this movie.

The way Warwick Davis played a vengeful leprechaun has become legendary. In the movie, the leprechaun thinks a family stole his pot of gold. He uses all of his smarts and strength to go after them. In the meantime, the family is looking for the gold as hard as they can to make the leprechaun happy and keep him from hurting them. Leprechaun is one of the best horror movies of all time because Davis's performance is so scary and easy to remember.

The Leprechaun film was intended to be more of a straight horror film, but Davis injected comedy into his performance.



Leprechaun movie plot:

Dan O'Grady goes back to North Dakota in 1983 after visiting his homeland of Ireland, where he kidnaps a leprechaun and steals his pot of gold. After hiding the gold, O'Grady learns that the evil leprechaun followed him home and murdered his wife. With the help of a four-leaf clover, O'Grady restrains the leprechaun's powers and locks him up in a box. When he went to burn him, a stroke stopped him in his tracks.

The O'Grady farmhouse is rented by J. D. Redding and his daughter Tory, now a teenager, ten years later. Nathan Murphy, his 10-year-old brother Alex, and their dopey friend Ozzie Jones are working as contract workers to renovate the farmhouse. While exploring the cellar, Ozzie overhears the leprechaun calling for help and mistakes him for a little child. As soon as the old four-leaf clover is freed from the carton, the leprechaun is free to go. The leprechaun tells Ozzie that he's a shoemaker from Ireland who came to America in quest of better opportunities. Ozzie fails to convince the others that he saw a leprechaun, but he does spot a rainbow, which he follows in the hopes of finding a pot of gold at its end. Worried that Ozzie would hurt himself, Alex decides to pursue him. With a wave of his wand, a bag holding one hundred gold coins appears before Ozzie. After Ozzie examines the gold and accidentally swallows a coin, thinking that doing so would cure his brain damage, they bury the loot in a deep, ancient well.

The leprechaun on the farm deceives J. D. into falling into a trap by impersonating a cat and biting and injuring his hand while posing as a feline. After Tory and the others take him to the hospital, the leprechaun rides a tricycle. When Alex and Ozzie drive to a pawn shop to verify the gold's purity, the leprechaun kills the proprietor, Joe, for stealing his gold and polishes Joe's shoes before fleeing. On his way back to the farmhouse, the leprechaun builds himself a go-kart and is caught for speeding by a police officer. The leprechaun chases the police officer into the forest, where he finally murders the officer. The leprechaun returns to the farm and searches for his riches while sparkling each shoe he encounters. The group returns to the farmhouse after delivering J. D. to the hospital. Nathan is injured by a bear trap placed by a leprechaun as he checks the exterior of a plundered structure. The gang tackles the leprechaun with rocks and clubs in the open air.

The leprechaun is shot many times after a weapon is discovered in the residence. They attempt to leave the property when it fails, but the leprechaun has wrecked the truck's engine. After destroying the car with the go-kart, the leprechaun terrorizes the group until Ozzie reveals that he and Alex uncovered the pot of gold. Tory retrieves the bag from the well and presents it to the leprechaun. They go to the hospital, certain that the worst has passed. As he tallies his treasure, the leprechaun learns he is missing the last coin that Ozzie consumed. He confronts them, assuming that they have deceived him, until Ozzie tells them that O'Grady had a stroke and was admitted to a nursing home. By tossing dirty shoes at the leprechaun, the gang diverts his attention, and the leprechaun is compelled to polish the shoes as Tory drives away in her jeep. The leprechaun poses as O'Grady at the nursing home. The leprechaun follows Tory to an elevator and, as Tory runs away, hurls O'Grady's bloody corpse down the elevator (blog) shaft. O'Grady warns her that the only way to kill the leprechaun is with a four-leaf clover, which just so happens to grow in a large patch outside the farm, before passing away. Tory goes back to the farmhouse to look for a clover, but the leprechaun attacks and she is saved by Nathan and Ozzie. The leprechaun is wounded severely while attempting to obtain the remaining gold coin, which Ozzie confesses to having eaten. Alex uses a four-leaf clover that Tory discovered, attaches it to a wad of gum, and fires it into the leprechaun's mouth, causing him to melt away before he can murder Ozzie. Despite falling down the well, the leprechaun's skeleton gets out and declares, "I want my gold." After Nathan forces the leprechaun back into the well, he uses gasoline to ignite both objects. When the police show up, Tory is reunited with her father, marries Nathan, and they have a child. Leprechauns were meant to return to Ireland. Warwick Davis, who played the leprechaun, lacked a work visa. Davis required a visa in three days to shoot the last scene, an impossible job.
